the wounding system is more of directed toward players than mobs in first place...and dealing faster damage makes it really bad for players getting wounded in combat Good. Having a hole poked in you with blood coming out is something players should have to be worried about rather than being a minor...

Not to totally hijack the main idea of the thread. But random glows could be disenchanted into totally useless "grey item" shards, which would have the same df/silver value as the item before it was destroyed. Only the essence would be near weightless, and a better option than lugging arou...
