I agree completely with this one, runes just seem to fit better...although that means changing all the equipment to have rune slots and that's a lot of work.

ignoring those obvious insults stalker I know from experience that if you give a player some power in leadership for the most part they will respect it and lead properly. Besides, the way the shadowdancers work it's fairly simple to replace a bad leader.

Actually i've had a "clan" system in mind for some time now, if I ever get around to having time to work on it I'll need suggestions, this is as good a place as any for em.

Why not take advantage the shadowdancers guild, who are aching for some hit contracts? A person needs killing someone, he hires an assassin to do it. This also solves the problem for people who want to take their vengence on higher-levelled players. It shouldn't be too difficult letting the target ...

Actually, I think the book idea is great..if anybody decides to write some stupid stuff and try to sell it they'll lose all they're respect as a bard because nobody will bother with anything they write again. Not really abusable because word will get around that they suck.

Well, since bards exist in D&D if you want to relate it to that then they are very dissimilar, they share..2 skills i think. Some people will of course RP them as rogues, and that's fine, but I think for the most part they should just be completely seperate.

Increasing the cost wouldn't stop people buying them for profit, it would just make them charge more when they sold them off again.

I'm pretty sure we'd stop around the point where every begins to say "That's annoying" instead of "cool, this is realistic"

The poll is a very good idea, but you have to keep in mind that we wouldn't allow "whatever you want" pk'ing, there would still have to be a very good reason for the killing.

First off...bad idea, we want something completely different, not something that just seems a little different. Secondly, these bards are going to be more of the respectable storyteller types than the bums who sing a song for some money and then rob you blind type bards.
