Mutations

Mutations are an upcoming feature in which monsters can randomly receive one or more special skills and powerups. Mutations can occur in monsters of all sizes from around 10k experience worth or so. In general, mutated monsters will be harder to kill and yield anywhere from 20% to 100% more experien...

Apartment for sale

Edit: The bidding is over. Thanks everyone for the interest. The economic downturn has hit a merchant in Vaerlon particularly hard. Unfortunately, the Bank of Vaerlon has been forced to foreclose on the merchant's apartment as a result. One man's plight is another man's gain, as they say, and the me...

New apartments. Soon(tm)!

Just thought I'd drop some info so you guys have the chance to prepare for buying one, in case you are in the market for a place to live. There's going to be some sort of an auction for yet-to-be-decided number of apartments in Vaerlon as soon as some minor features have been completed. Some pointer...

Much as one does not simply walk into Mordor, one does not simply wake up from coma (which is a state of unconsciousness). :) Dragging the unfortunate person out of combat and using first aid to bring them back works, albeit rarely. But it's awesome when it does work. I think it's obvious why monste...

It just counts everyone who hangs on the login screen to the total online players number - in reality there's only wizards and a couple of players who managed to ninja themselves in before the lock. :)

There's a "df calculator" included in appraise now, starting from 50% skill. Currently it only works if you appraise the item individually, it's not ran when you use "appraise at loot". Need to change that sometime. If something's wrong with blesscalc you should check which eleme...

Newbie helpers

As a direct result of the feedback we received, there is now a newbie helper system and dedicated staff to help and guide new players in any issues they might encounter. The system is accessible via the in-game command ' helper ' for people in need to make help requests as well as for helpers to man...

I am also curious, how can a player with no knowledge in coding whatsoever contribute to the game? There are many ways to support Icesus that require no talent in coding; you can participate by reporting bugs, typoes and giving ideas. You can spare some time to help a newbie to get a hang of this g...

Hiyas. Since the lack of a solid newbie helping system has been brought forward, I've been working on one for a while now. The ground system is pretty much finished (it isn't that much work anyway). Basically it is help request (´ticket´) based, in that players have access to a 'helper' comman...

Devtax in the multisub gets applied to each and every corpse you slice. Mainguild shadowdancers don't have any reductions.

There's not much treax code around the dancer mechanics any more, in addition to myself, at least Tumi, Thoran and Belannaer have tinkered with stuff.

We'd see lots of people from Sudan etc if it was settable at will. One solution would be to use geoIP for determining country, I've even got the database somewhere. The are problems with that approach as well (it is one big ass database). Currently the countries command relies on reverse DNS, it onl...

As far as I know, this kind of behaviour has spread from these groups of friends exping with the ~same formation pretty much always. Back in the day we took turns in leading for the df and only shared for Loffie, since he was too lazy to make his own and definitely too lazy to lead. I would be incli...

While additional "cross faction" content would certainly be nice, I'm not sure it would be best to make Vaerlon the arena of constant (or even oft) battles. The reputation loss suffered keeps the raids from becoming too regular, I think. Like it or not, Vaerlon is the center of Icesus univ...
