Shapeshifters and weapons

Gaesati are able to wield weapons, but for what I understand we dont actualy use the weapons but wielding them buff our claw attacks. For what I was told, for other guilds, wielding single sword in both hands lets you hit harder, while using a pair of swords will let you deliver more attacks.

My question is that if the same happens to shapeshifters, as in, if it matters for to wield a single longsword in both hands or wield two longswords instead, if it works differently.

Actually it's the complete opposite in shifters. Wielding one weapon in both hands makes it affect less than 2 separate weapons.
