Not sure who suggested it, but the Horde sounds good..it is all inclusive, including their warriors, shamans, scouts, etc..the Barbarian Horde of the wastes

Horde kind of suggests that there are a lot of them and that they are plundering their way, but as I understand it they are nomadic hunters and not very many.

If you want to suggest that they also brought their shamans, scouts, women, children etc. I think Tribe would be better. Beefed up with suitably awsome adjectives of course (Barbaric, Wild, Fierce, Wandering . . .) ;)

IMO...icesus has always been more original then most muds. instead of having a warriors guild...we have the army. instead of assasins guild...we have the shadowdancers. i dont think barbarians is that creative, it's been done, in a ton of other muds. now, i dont have any good ideas to call it, but i'm sure SOMEONE can think of something better then: barbarians of (blah)

(not to say that those of you who suggested that were lacking in creative juices...but it's been done)

Outlanders=from the lands outside the valley
Frozen Ones=at the very least they're fairly chilled
Enderites=to have survived so long in the bitter waste-lands they must have learned to ender most any hardship

I think the word you're looking for is "endure"; and then they would be called Endurites.

...which seems a bit awkward, even if the concept is sound. It's kind of like calling them "survivalites" because they can survive well...

The Marauders

or even...

The Ice Marauders or assorted other variations on marauders...

The Stlarg (nice gutteral sounding one i think)
The Grolb

The Yethic (kind of a play on Yeti and ice)
or even Yelthic

depending on what race they can be, I like the Bolg personally, but I actually read some books that had Firbolgs in it and their culture was generally called the Bolg, that race had interbred with almost every other race, except for when they were eating them.
anyway, except for that fact that we already have a firbolg race, that is what I would suggest.
