Arena Fights would be fun if they would last a little longer. The dmg the player do is just to much relativly to the hp. Would be more fun if they would last longer.
or implement an option to just increase the hp 10fold.
Fun=dangerous? In my experence, the arena mobs either are quickly killed, or deal enough damage that you have to quickly run, with only about 1 - 3 "fair fights". If I understand what you are saying, increasing the Hp would just make the easy mobs hard, and the "hard" mobs impossible.
why not actually use balanced offence and defence points? the battle would be slower, and more hits would be blocked, therefore battle would last a bit longer.

a playerbased solution is no solution. you could also say 'lets use no skills and the battle will last longer'. =P
no the player should be able to use/do anything he wants but the dmg should be accordingly to the health of a player.
An interesting (though probably unintended side-effect) of increasing hitpoints/lowering damage is that status-type effects such as, but not limited to, coven curses, many damage type specials, etc. would have a significantly greater effect on the outcome of the fight. Lowering the chance the effect hits and/or the duration would probably be a good idea as well.
