Ginjeet stumbled upon an ancient piece of code that slightly "lags" the mud. We are waiting if it goes over on its own (it should theoretically end after some unknown time) and if its not done so by the time of daily reboot we are going to just crash it and manually reboot.

if it doesn't go away on its own, how much will we lose?

If this gets that code fixed, then it can be a good thing.
Edit: Is it safe to continue to try to log in?

Ironically, it might have provided us a tool to help reduce lag, had it worked.
