Icecon 2024

Post by ezenya »

We have booked a cabin, housing 20 people (if looks like more will join, bring something to sleep on/in with you).
You need to bring your own bedding(lakanat).

Address for navigating: Lähderannantie 10, 52740 Mäntyharju
link to cabin : https://www.nettimokki.com/tuustaipale/ ... hti/51208/

Arrival allowed from 26.7 16:00 onwards.
We have booked the cabin for a week (since its summer season and we had to), so its possible we can allow people to stay after the weekend, but that is not yet certain, so dont count on it. It probably requires someone from the council staying as well, and also includes logistics and whatnots, so it is very uncertain at this point. Will possibly post more info about that closer to the event.

Note that this cabin is bit more "rural", eg. no indoor toilet, check more info on the site linked above. The selection for a cabin that was still free, and housed enough people, and was inside our budget was bit thin at this close to summer. However, it has a separate sauna-building with a nice roofed terrace, and plenty of sleeping places, as well as a lake and all that goodness!

You can/should discuss on this forum about logistics, since we will most likely be needing rides from Mikkeli to the cabin. Also discuss the food situation, so we dont everyone bring 10 packs of sausages, and 99% of them will end up being just a waste of refrigerator space and nobody will even eat them (recommended we pool our resources for free-for-all main dinners and coffee and toilet paper etc, and only bring something "special" to eat, in small amounts, for ourselves to save space and avoid waste)

UPDATE: Put yourself on the list if you are coming and if you are joining for dinner and if you are bringing some communal stuff for all to use, to keep track of what kind of food/drink/utilities stuff like toilet paper for our bungholes we have.

I will most likely be joining.
Also: We are aiming to allow people to stay at the cabin at least till early evening of sunday, if not monday morning, so nobody needs to start driving while hungover.

Kiaran signing up!

I am driving from Lahti and will have 3 to 4 empty seats in my reliable Toyota S**tbox.

I am also planning and scheming to make pooled meals like in Nuuksio.

This will be the list of meal ideas in which we will choose the winners:

Tacos / tortillas
Hamburgers
Salmon (either loimulohi or oven baked) with mashed taters (not gonna go acoustic on this one. my wrist still hurts from Nuuksio and the potato theater) and a salad

I vote for tortillas with varying fillings one can choose from (can put your salad IN your food so you can eat while you eat!)! And acoustic potato smashing sounds.... probably very acoustic.

+1 to Tortillas! Should we try to be more organized this time and make food for everyone at same time, and everyone would participate on expenses?

And yeah, I'm also coming there on friday and Manners is coming with me(from Helsinki/capital area). I still have two more free seats free in car, if someone needs a ride there

Tortillas it is for Saturday dinner!

I was thinking of a brunch type of thing for Saturday's other meal. Fruits, meats, juices etc to nibble on since last time showed that people aren't that hungry in the lunch time :D It must've been the fresh air.

The bill will be splitted among the participants and as last time, I will make a crude calculation of the costs.

If you have any wishes, post 'em here AND ALSO INFORM HERE IF YOU WANT TO JOIN THIS FOOD-POOL

Made an approximation of the tortillas:

4 tortillas per participant which totals up to 10€ per person

More information on the Excel sheet!
