"Ooh! Little mole sniffing at my toes.. how cute..." Aiieek! Your whirling blades CUTS through the little cute mole, IMPALING its tiny frail body and SKINNING off the whole skin in one swift move. "yup... so CUTE...".

Icesus version of "Caretaker of Nature".

Guess I'll comment a bit on this one too...

The druids should be overall nature users, aka plants AND animals. A sub for rangers would be nice, with subs like archers and bladesingers excluded from the portfolio. Druids could be a minion guild, but with a minion as a companion, not minion as tank you just blaster. I would see like low levels, rabbits, hawks stuff like that, better skill/level/subs Wolves, bears and stuff. I would hesitate to go up to the Mammoths and stuff, tho. But who wouldn't want a panda companion?

On a side thought, I wouldn't see druids as an tamer guild, eg. giving out pets or steeds, since they ARE protectors and cultivators and stuff.

But yeah, Grove stuff sounds great, like wilder shrines and so, and there could be some contest between Druid groves and Coven taking them out (Maybe tipping the balance, or something?) This would allow for nice events, too, like bunch of druinds making big groves, affecting the power of covens, who would have to stop it and vice versa. Also groves could be raisable only with the help of a specialist, or a higher guildmember (Wich on the other hand would allow those meanie highbies to monopolize the grove groving. :/ Duh.) Easier finding herbs and stuff, maybve attracting wildlife? Druids would be drawing power from nature, so maybe I would hesitate to continue the ranger line of being anti-animal OW-specialists. Rather druids would be preservers of nature, fighting those trying to destroy it. And I don't mean like running in to help little fluffy bunnies being an-[comment removed, by the courtesy of wizzes]-ped by big black tentaclemonst- er, bears. So instead of hold animal, some other sort of slowing spell?

This all being said, druid are on the way already, I guess. So this is all moot, and I can just shut up knowing that I've wasted good 15min on a useless effort.

/edit
Also on a sidenote, I would like to see druids as using staves for weapons, seeing that they are rather obsolete pieces of weaponry atm. Maybe even with a variation of whirling blades? I'm thinking staves might work particularly well with Diamond lunge and the like.
-------The weird ranger. 'Nuff said.-------

When i suggested that druid should get to tame stuff i actually ment that they would wonder the outworld and when they find a nice animal that they like they could try and charm it to get that animal as their companion.
And i like the idea of making staffs useful for them. Some combat skills and maneuvers that make a staff a effective weapon would be great.

With any enemy that looks remotely human, a swift blow to the groin followed by a thrust to the throat generally ends the fight very quickly, since they generally lower defenses when hit in the groin or gut maybe and hitting the throat with as much force as a staff could bring to bear shatters a few very important things and the person suffocates or chokes on their voicebox or something like that.

I wish to note, that most things that I have looked at consider staves to be more defensive in nature then most weapons.
