Seems that just a minor positive skill modifier in a glow eq increases the glow drain significantly. I'm not sure why it is like this, and is it even supposed to be like this, but it seems a bit harsh to me.
Just a +skill in an eq seems to lower the time of a decent glow by several days, if not weeks.
the +skill bonuses in glow eq

Would be fair to drain energy proportional to the % it represents in players allready known skill. For example if the bonus is 2 and the player had 2% before then the drain should be maximal whilst the player had 80 before the drain should be almost none
Tecari makes a good point. If the item has even a +2skill bonus, the glow in the item goes down FAST. Regardless if
the material is mithril or other of the high-end ones.
For example, the 'Singer' weapons drain down in a matter of
two days, yet when a weapon made of similiar material and
type remains at high glow for ~10 times longer if it doesn't
have the low +skill bonus.
This HUGE difference in the glow drainage seems odd.

It would seem so.
I have noticed the very same thing. It appears that Treant shield's glow fades away rapidly. It can go down from intense to feeble within a single day. This behaviour is odd, because in my humble opinion skill/spell bonuses from eq are significantly less useful than stat bonuses.
