New templar event.
This is a very bad idea, i know, but im still going to post it, just to get it out.
We should get a new templar event- seen as they are the all_so_goody_goody_knights_in_shining_armour. Say some player kills a lot of rep monsters in an area, a real pest for the people there, so they call for the help of the good guys. So the bad rep player will be tagged as 'wanted' and the templars are free to hunt him down and kill him - only until first death or a certain period of time.
With some proper rules this could be fun. Id valunteer to be the first hunted.

It wouldn't be fair if someone for example. Ã…ke is a level 13 healer and has attacked Ereldon by accident, now his rep is very very bad.
Then templars have their event and mister John the 67lvl templar happens to see Ã…ke selling his stuff at shop; unfair, aye?
Ofcourse there could be added that the player to be hunted was +x in total worth or +x in level so he could be hunter, or just make it so that the player has to agree first to be hunter (as you kindly did)
((I would also see the goody-good templars once raid Graemor to kill the most evil Shadowdancers and other 'unwanted' people as dark-elves )) Maybe not a direct assault but some war against graemorians and vaerlon folk, something..

Perhaps instead of killing the rogue player, they will SPANK him really hard in the butt.
That way everyone is happy. Especially if you like being spanked.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
For player punishment, the templars should clamp magic shackles of slowness (-dex) to the offender's legs. The offender would then have to go to the city offices and pay his fine to have them removed.
The would combine the fun of hunting someone without the ugly grudge of someone getting killed and losing a ton of exp. Since the fine is levied by the city it should also avoid any personal grudge from the offender to the templar.
The templar needs some reward, there is probably only one templar that would do it for the pure joy of it. Since it is civic service, rather than elemental service, repuation would seem like the proper reward.
Also to make it "interesting" for low level rep seekers, clamping the shackles on should make the offender aggro. (Though not if that would cause some class to do something automatically that might tick off ereldon. It is likely that the offender will be idle.) You just wouldn't want some level 4 templar to walk up and clamp Thakkrad with impunity.

there are many rep monsters in the game, some are +rep other -rep. This topic is speaking about the -rep monsters. If someone killes a lot ov vaerlon -rep monsters they are bad for vaerlon, thus must be punished.aieon wrote:in RP sense it's GOOD to kill rep-mosters 'cause they're BAD.
The Templars encourage good. why should they be the ones to catch the GOOD people for killing a lot of BAD guys?
Just because they do the Templars' job? Yeah, in the REAL world, but in Icesus...
However you are right- people that kill a lot of +rep monsters are good, and there is already a lot of perks for people that are good.
