At this moment we seem to have unlimited supply of food at Double Dragon Inn, bakery, and possibly some other places i don't know. This is great but since Wilde and Artic brought up, that nothing ever changes without <interference> from wizards, i thought - and naturaly it lead to disastrous consequences...
I suggest: 1) limit ammount of roasted rabbits in DDI and allow players to bring either corpses(bad) or just rabbit meat to inn, where some npc will buy it, if there's need and prepare it when someone orders it.
2) Players with high cooking(huoh, at least 5%?) can apply to be a cook at the inn, and work there from time to time. If player fails to be there at least (shrug) once per two days, he'll be fired, and won't be able to apply to be a cook for a while.
3) Other players can try to impress Vilbor with theyre cooking skill, and replace a current cook.
4) Event where hords of rodens swarm plains around a city, and if players don't exterminate them quickly, there will be major shortage on bread and 'Potatoes and Beans' etc food they might offer arount that city. Prices for food will naturaly rise during that event. Something should probobly be done so that a single riding highbie won't slaughter all rodents in first 2 minutes of the event, duno what though.
Hmm, i probobly forgot something, and made a lot of typos, but i have to flee, so...

Food, cooking and possibly a new event.
Beyond good..
I would really like to see other uses for the skill cooking
than just burning meat over fire. Baking bread or cakes for
example would be neat. Drying/smoking chunks of meat for
later usage and so on. With higher skill percent one
could be able to prepare better foods with almost magical
quality : slightly more ep regeneration from eating, minor
healing powers.
Adding some racial flavor to the cooking, one
could be able to make ie. Elven waybread, if one was an elf or
brownie waybread if one was a brownie, these racial attributes
could affect the nature of the benefit the master baker imbues
the bread with.
(Is a brownie baker a cannibal if she bakes and eats brownies?)

These are some neat ideas, i especially like the idea of being able to make your own beef jerkysuron wrote:I would really like to see other uses for the skill cooking

Perhaps well cooked bear meat could give a tiny increase in str/con til the end of boot, and deer meat would give dex and so on. (been playing too much ADOM lately)
