A while back it was discussed that army could be tuned a bit, adding new feats etc. I came up with something that i think would be a great addition for the army. Different party formations.
Picture a party of 4-9 milita members attacking a monster. By the party leaders command the party could take on a different formation than the regular 3-row matrix. For example the party could form a circle- on command the 2nd and 3rd row would fall out of formation and enciricle the monster, making it harder for the monster to flee and being all able to engage the monster in melee battle (also giving the monster the ability to damage all). Of course it would be harder/impossible to move/flee in such a formation so an order to fall back into regular formation should be issued before party leader could flee.
Other shapes/formations could be designed all with their unique bonuses so that party leader should really think about how he should command hes troops to best conquer the situation. Ofcourse more complicated formations could also involve fighters from other guilds. The speed of how fast formations could be changed should depend on leaders skill, followers skill, charisma and rank in army.
Different party formations.

This would be kinda _big_ uptune to militia-parties overall.
Should there also be somekind of system that allowes militiamen to gain masteries better and/or on occasion learn skills from higher ranked officers.
If there wouldn't be that kind of bonus also I don't see why wouldn't they take 3 mages and 3 air_priest behind them, or any combination of these. Ofcourse it's coolish that the damage would be then divided to everyone, not just the usual front row.
A nice idea, let's brainstorm this.

Militia Rank
I think that the belt bonuses of the highest ranking member could be applied to all the militia members in a party.
Belt should give bonuses to skills like evade hits,...
Belt should be a much more powerful... with skill, stat, regen, and resist damage enchantments that start early, thakkrad's belt should be in the top #20 most powerful magical items in the game.
I really dig the idea of learning skills by watching other militia perform them.
I think that it should also incress the skill level or the mastery level of tthe teaching charactor as well. [a sort of militia only learnable by doing list]
I also think that criticals could be more commen and that strike should cost 4% and be faster by 10%.
the militia is one of the best options for people with exactly 0 exp along with mage and priest, and those are the people we want to attract so I think that by uping the damage dealt and making their advancement a little faster as it appears across the screen.. could we show it when one of your guild masteries goes up, the more positive reinforcement the better.

i think this would go here, i have an idea similar to the shadowdancers training room, the militia should have a sparring ability, where they train with each other using nonlethal weapons, and can train different skills. and have the skills be slightly dependent on what happens in the fight, like a newbie vs mila would end with the newbie getting some skills in self defence, like dodge or block, while mila(if this is the right name), would get maybe a point in the weapon of choice or in melee.

Ok the ability to learn skills while fighting in a party with other payers from you guild is already implemented. Yet it is VERY-Very rare (UberLucky chance). I for one have gotten better at a skill by just watching someone perform it in the same room, wasn't even in the same party. It would be nice if it were tuned a bit, but its nothing new, so moving righ along...
