Reinforced foundations:

        ring mail
                Discs of the armour material sewn onto a backing.
                Accepted foundation materials:
                  leather and heavy cloth
        studded
                Small pieces of reinforcing material studded into a
                backing, making the armour more rigid.
                Accepted foundation materials:
                  leather, heavy cloth, soft leather and chitinium silk
        bezainted
                Large discs of the armour material sewn onto a
                backing.
                Accepted foundation materials:
                  leather and cuir-boulli
        scale mail
                Scales of the armour material sewn onto a backing 
                of leather.
        brigandine
                Plates of the armour material covered on both
                sides by leather.

Non-foundation armour types:
        chain mail
                Rings of the armour material connected to
                each other.
        double chain mail
                Thicker rings of the armour material connected
                to each other.
        augmented chain mail
                Rings of the armour material connected to
                each other, with strips of leather running
                vertically through the rings at regular
                intervals.
        laminated
