Use this skill to perform a medical diagnosis, which is the process of determining which disease or condition explains a person's symptoms and signs. It is most often referred to as diagnosis with the medical context being implicit. The information required for diagnosis is typically collected from a history and physical examination of the person seeking medical care. Often, one or more diagnostic procedures, such as medical tests, are also done during the process.
If your diagnosis of your target player is positive for any disease, you will automatically become his appointed doctor and he will be your patient for the duration of the illness. As he gets better, you will be rewarded with karma and mastery ticks. If he heals completely, you will no longer be his appointed doctor. NOTE: Both the doctor and patient have to be online as the patient is recovering for the doctor to get the rewards.
As a doctor, in addition to using this skill, to get the best possible
diagnosis, you need to perform some additional actions, which are as
follows:
- See if patient has any problems with eating, drinking or talking. (ask him to eat or drink something). - Look at the patient to see visual symptoms on his body. - Touch the patient to detect e.g. swollen lymph nodes on his neck, or if he has fever. - You can ask the patient to use command 'defecate' to provide a stool sample. - Question the patient whether he has any internal symptoms e.g. apathy, head ache, pain, malaise, and such which cannot be measured externally. Once you have your diagnosis provided by this skill, and you know the above factors, then refer to 'help epidemics' to make your diagnosis.
