Guild Structure

Initiates of the Shadowdancers

The first shadowdancer guild. Teaches basic skills and spells and has 10 levels.

* In order to join you need:
* Hometown must be Graemor
* At least 1M total exp
* Race cannot be beholder
* Pay 150k (cash) or get leader invitation to join

Children of Shadows

After completing the initiatehood, the apprentice shadowdancers move on in the training, to the next level called 'Children of Shadows', which is a hard and long process, setting apart worthy and worthless students. In here the students learn the use of various combatstyles and hit styles more efficiently, and also begin learning the dreaded shadowdancer skills : backstab and shadow strike, which in expert hands are most devastating instruments of death.

Shadowdancers

The Shadowdancers are the 'mainguild' in the Shadowdancer guild organization. The joining here requires maximum level in the Children of Shadows and good knowledge of Shadowdancer techniques. In here the newly joined Shadowdancer goes deeper in the knowledge of his previously learnt skills, and even some new secret Shadowdancer masteries are taught here. After completing this training there is a decision to make, whether to join in the offensive Nightbringers, or the defensive Nighthawks, either of them must be chosen, both cannot be joined and that determines the course of the rest of their training.

Nightbringers

The Nightbringers are the offensive subguild of the Shadowdancers, designed for those Shadowdancers who wish to advance their knowledge in the more offensive and aggressive ways of fighting. If you decide to specialise in this guild, that is advance past level 10, it prevents you from specialising in the Nighthawks, the defensive part of the Shadowdancers.

The Nighthawks are the defensive subguild of the Shadowdancers, and in here the advanced Shadowdancer learns superior defensive skills over the offensive Nightbringers, but also lacks the offensive skills.

The 'Death from Darkness' are the assasin branch of the Shadowdancers, and in here the advanced Shadowdancer learns superior hiding techniques, how to surprise the target, and most of all, to KILL it.

Guild Commands

You have few commands which to use as a Shadowdancer, and they can be activated by typing:

sdcmd <argument>, sd_cmd <argument> or shadowdancer_command <argument>

Possible arguments:

who        -    you'll see a list of your fellow guild members
long       -    type your own long desc for the guildweapon.
dev <player> or devotion <player> -    See the devotion which you have attained by slicing corpses.
mastery or masteries     -    see your masteries
stats      -    gives the current stats in your guilditem
event      -    shows you the next runtime of the events.
quests     -    you can see quests of player x, usage 'sdcmd quests [<name>]'.
help       -    This help. 'sdcmd help faq' for FAQ. 'sdcmd help masteries'
              to get some explanation about masteries.
sense <cmd>-    Being skilled in shadow sense, you can use it to determine
whether or not there are creatures in your surroundings. Use
it to 'surroundings' to sense your adjacent rooms or towards
any direction.


Devotion

One gets devotion for slicing corpses of mobs they've killed, for participating in guild events and for completing guild quests. Slicing happens automaticly when battle is over. The shadowdancer devotion command shows the amount of devotion in a somewhat non-standard way according to the following key:

Devotion effects every aspect of shadowdancers skills and gives nice titles, so players will do wisely to grind it constantly.

100k-300k dev: every 20k
300k-400k dev: every 33k
400k-600k dev: every 100k

Guild Events

  • Vendetta: Kill an NPC in Vaerlon. The dancer who deals the death blow wins the event. Kill stealing rules do not apply.
  • Slay: Enter an arena and kill a number of mobs. Mob size is usually proportional to player size and the number of mobs you have to kill is around 15. You have to be online at the beginning of the event in order to be able to enter the rift which takes you to the arena, but you have time until boot to finish the event.
  • Manhunt: Use the shadow sense skill to locate and kill mobs in Graemor. The first dancer to kill 5 targets wins the event. Kill stealing rules do not apply. Need at least 3 dancers to start the event.
  • Raid: Join a dancer only party (lead by an NPC) to raid a caravan. Gives money exp and devotion, but lowers reputation.
  • Stab: Stab a dummy to find out which dancer stabs the hardest. Need at least 3 dancers to start the event.
  • Slaughter: Dancer showdown where pvp combat takes place (also some NPCs are thrown in). The last man standing is the winner.
  • Prayer: Just stay in the prayer room while the dancer priest does the rituals of darkness. You have to be unidle in order to take part in the event, so just idling in prayer room won't help. This event is very important as the number of players attending effects the overall performance of each guild member until next prayer event.

Guild Quests

Quests are mostly about killing things (challenges) and winning some shadowdancers events. Completing a quest gives some devotion and sometimes improves masteries. Almost all challenges are individual, except for the last 2 (Teitosh and Ceawin), which can be completed in dancer-only parties. Killing Ceawin gets you a nice reward (in addition to devotion and masteries). There is also a sacrifice quest where you can sacrifice items in the prayer room to gain a little bit of devotion and work towards gaining enough sac points to finish the quest which gives a nice reward.

Masteries

  • Annihilation: Maximizes damage with backstab. Rumour says that it also improves your chance to do a trible stab.
  • Knowledge of inner organs: Improves stabs and shadow strike. Raised by stabbing and shadow striking.
  • Assassination: Increases the chance to gain double and triple stabs. Rumour says that it directly affects your chance to do a double stab.
  • Swiftness of unveiled movement: Improves chances of stab success without hiding before.
  • Anatomy: Improves stabs and shadow strike. Raised by stabbing and shadow striking.
  • Geometry of shadows: Improves shadowdancing and move silently.
  • Essence of darkness: Improves the effectivity of Shadow barrier. Raises by casting.
  • Knowledge of poisons: Improves the amount of reagents you can use for making poisons thus making them more effective. Raised by mixing poisons and using shadow strike to poison.

Devotion requirements: 400k for shortsword, 800k for rapier.

Notice that each time you upgrade, you pay the whole cost, so paying to average quality and then high quality will cost 545250 and not 461250.

Poisons

  • Poison ingredients can be bought in the guild shop, gathered using the herbalism skill. Some of the more exotic ingredients are dropped from mobs.
  • Only shadowdancers (or players with shadowdancers secondary level guilds) can apply shadowdancers poisons.
  • It is rumored that maximum number of ingredients in mix poison is 11 or 13

Cooldowns

  • Backstab cooldown is 4 minutes.
* A stabbed monster cannot be hit with combat stabs even after cooldown expires.
  • Combat backstab cooldown is 1 minutes.
  • Uncany adroitness cooldown is 130-skill% seconds.
  • Rituals of Darkness cooldown is once every 24 Hours.

Secondary Guild

Gathering of assassins

Gathering of the assassins are a bunch of people who wish to learn the ways of the Shadowdancers but are not ready or willing to devote themselves completely.
