This spell is offensive.

The spell touch of the nether is a powerful offensive spell of the earth priests, similar to the draining powers of a wight. When the spell is conjured, a portion of the netherworld appears on the target, draining life from it to the priest and through him into the nether plane. Occasionally part of the life-force merges with the priest's and gives a temporary boost for him.
