Knowledge in this skill allows a shapeshifter to shapeshift into a form of a fungus by tampering his inner beast into fungus's form and then using its power to change his mortal form. The better one is in this skill the more he is like a real fungus when he shapeshifts and this of course gives him more potential when using his new form, for example, in combat. It doesn't really help if you can merely grow spots over your head and try to disgust your opponent with that.
