Knowledge in this skill allows a shapeshifter to shapeshift into a form of a serpent by tampering his inner beast into serpent's form and then using it's power to change his mortal form. The better one is in this skill the more he is like a real serpent when he shapeshifts and this of course gives him more potential when using his new form for example in a combat. It doesn't really help if you can merely turn your teeth into short and dull fangs and try to harm your opponent with them.
