When mage is casting offensive spells, the magic takes over his body for a short while, and usually the energy will burst from his fingers when the spell nears completion. With this skill a mage manages to control the flow somewhat correctly, creating a powerful critical success, and therefore sometimes mages are able to control the flow more efficiently, creating devastating effects.
