The wilders spent centuries fighting for their very existence in each battle. Even a single defeat meant extinction. They perfected a battle strategy where the sturdier fighters would watch over the more fragile ones and put their own bodies into harms way to protect the fragile ones if needed. More skilled wilders are better at using expendible body parts to block.
