Concentration is a thing that almost any sentient being is able to do. Still some people require training in it because they need to be able to concentrate on what they are doing what ever happens, even if you are being struck by a sword. For example bards need to be able to concentrate on their song spells and instrument playing even in the heat of combat. Concentration is also very important for some psionicists who need to be able to control their telekinetic powers undisturbed.
