With elemental funnel water priests gather and prepare elemental energy from their surroundings and funnel in to their allies. As the elemental mana is already prepared it is much easier to handle for spell casting. In a way it reminds certain rites used to prepare for spell casting but it is other person doing the preparations for you and doing it constantly. Highly skilled channelers are also able to pull out new effects in other people's spell casting by helping them with channeling.
