Its damage is somewhat dependant on its target's mana reserves and intelligence.

It acts as a link of raw elemental mana between its wielder and its target,

by default burning the mana inside of its target and feeding it back to the wielder. This can be altered using a special 'voidstrike' command, which in effect overloads the targets very being with raw mana, causing terrible agony with each connecting hit.

No mortal being can withstand being the mana conduid for long, though, as it will quickly exhaust one's mana pool no matter its size.
