Encounter with a powerful dhamphir in combat usually doesn't end well for the other person but sometimes some individuals manage to escape the imminent slaughter. Unfortunately to them their escape from certain death mostly becomes quite shortlived as they notice that they are infected by a host of different magical diseases that devour both the body and soul of their victim. Putrefy is one of those magical diseases employed by dhamphirs in combat. As a dhamphir carves bleeding wounds to his victim he is able to infect them with magical putrefication that causes the wounds to instantly fester and start oozing vile pus.
