This skill represents one's ability to parry and intercept incoming attacks using a shield. Parrying extremely hard blows and huge weapons requires in-depth knowledge of parrying and the correct stance to take in the battle to endure even a dragon's slash. Even an inferior fighter may parry to some degree, but true masters of this skill use it as a battle maneuver of sorts, concentrating solely on intercepting attacks and paying from little to no effect in offence. Reaching the perfect position to parry attacks is known to hinder one's offensive abilities somewhat.
