Steam is the basic fire damage type, and it can summon small energies of burning fire magic, and because it is quite easy to cast and learn, it has been chosen to be the first spell taught to new caster following the bright path of fire. Still, as it is quite powerless compared to advanced types, it can inflict considerable injuries to the target, as we all know, burns are quite painful. It is said that the mage's knowledge of the masteries help boosting the spell, making it far deadlier.
